The 2026 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York has opened its doors, showcasing the work of 22 top designers at 80 West Washington Place in Greenwich Village. Now in its 51st year, the event transforms a historic townhouse into a creative showcase, with each room reflecting a unique design vision.
A Historic Setting for Modern Design
The 1839 Georgian townhouse, once home to composer John Philip Sousa, spans six levels. Visitors can explore grand entertaining spaces, private terraces, a wellness level, and a rooftop deck overlooking Washington Square Park. The residence blends its preserved architectural character with contemporary interiors, art, and outdoor spaces.
For the first time, Kips Bay has partnered with art historian Gay Gassmann to curate an American art collection for the staircase. Gassmann’s selections highlight the depth and diversity of American artistic talent, integrating art as an essential part of the home experience.
Supporting a Greater Mission
Beyond its role as a design landmark, the Show House serves as the signature fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. Over five decades, the event has raised over $35 million to support educational and enrichment programs for young people across New York City.
